Our Standard
Vetted, so you do not have to guess
Every advisor in our network is reviewed against a strict standard before we make a single introduction. Here is what that actually means.
Fiduciary duty, without exception
Every advisor we work with is a fiduciary, legally required to act in your interest at all times. This excludes a large share of the industry. Many people who call themselves advisors are brokers held to a weaker standard that permits them to recommend products that pay them more, as long as the product is broadly suitable.
We consider the fiduciary standard the absolute floor, not a differentiator. If an advisor will not commit to it in writing, they are not in our network.
Recognized credentials
We look for the CFP, CFA, or CPA/PFS designations, or an equivalent depth of demonstrated expertise. These credentials require years of study, examination, and continuing education, and they carry ethical obligations with real enforcement behind them.
Anyone can print the word advisor on a business card. Credentials are how you separate training from marketing.
A clean regulatory record, verified independently
We review public regulatory records for every advisor and firm in the network, including SEC and FINRA disclosures. Complaints, arbitrations, and disciplinary events are examined individually. A pattern of client disputes ends the conversation.
We encourage you to do the same check yourself. Any advisor we introduce will welcome it. The good ones always do.
A track record with clients like you
An advisor can be excellent and still be wrong for you. A specialist in retirement income may be a poor fit for a founder with a concentrated stock position, who needs investment management depth instead. We look at who an advisor actually serves: their typical client, their minimums, their planning strengths, and how they charge.
The match is the product. Everything else is preamble.
Ongoing review
Vetting is not a one-time event. We stay in contact with the people we match and we ask how the relationship is going. An advisor who stops returning calls or lets service slip does not stay in the network, regardless of credentials.
